October 19, 2005 - Day 93 of Remodel
The drywall in the house has been installed. The house now has closed walls both inside and outside the house.
Some bad news from our Contractor. During inspection by the City of the framing, it turns out the windows provided by our window company were the wrong windows. As a result, a few of the windows are two inches smaller than the fire code allows for egress from the house. They will need to be replaced.
The good news is that the window company will be responsible for the cost -- material and equipment. Better to find out such things now, rather than later! The replacement should take about 2-3 weeks since the window company needs to order the replacement windows.
Other good news -- our stray cat "Tabby" has stayed around during the remodel. She is seen here in a photo from today eating. We've even caught her from time to time sleeping inside the house as it was being worked on!
